Ever cut your long hair and regretted it?

My hair was waist length until this summer.

My son was born last November and I suffered from post natal hair loss really badly, so much so that my hair began to look really thin and tatty. So I decided to have it cut. I had it chopped into a shoulder length layered style with a fringe (bangs).

I hate it! I seems so short and I can't plait it or anything. I desperately want it to be long again but it will take years! And I have to keep straightening it because otherwise it just kinks/frizzes up and looks awful. I wish I had lots of money because I'd have hair extensions put in!

What should I do to get it back to how it used to be?

I had hair down past my knees and I cut it to only ONE INCH long to donate four feet to locks of love.

Anyway, trim 1/4 inch off every couple months and don't style it to heavy. Use a healthy conditioner, and it should grow down to your elbows after five years.

Be patient, it will grow back !!! There isn't much you can do to make your hair grow faster so I guess you'll have to save up for the extensions!

It'll take years to grow? wow, mine grows back rapidly, yeah, I had mine cut short a month ago, now its pretty long, obviously not as long as you want your though :P

I cut mine just before I had my daughter as I thought it would be easier to deal with..wrong!

It's almost grown back now...3 years later...try not to straighten it too much it;s not good for it...in three years time youll have much more..and time flies..

Ive heard that trimming your hair often helps it too grow faster, I once had long hair decided to cut it then hated it so i know how you feel, just keep strighteneing for now to make yourself feel better but soon you'll be able to tie it back until you are happy with the length.

i cut my hair way shorter than that once it grew back within a year but having shorter hair may be more practical as youre now a mum

I had hip-length hair which I cut to shoulder length in June. I also got a fringe.

I absolutely love it but I know what you mean about having to straighten it, it actually needs MORE care now than before.

Just try and appreciate not getting it stuck in doors while it grows back. You could make it a kind of project, there are sites where people track their hair growth and stuff...a bit weird but it might be fun!

im a boy who has long hair n i love it i love it in girl too n when u have a hair cut( for by the skl untder threat of expolsion) i hate it n appently drinking milk or just a ghig calcyim diet speeds up hair groth it works for me but good lucko n a nother 2 or so ft of hair im countin on u to win!

I had really long hair right down to the bottom of my back and decided to have it cut short into an above the shoulder bob. I loved it when i left the hairdressers but after washing it i couldnt style it so it look right and regretted having the cut. In the end i parted my hair into two bunches and wore it like this untill i could grow it into a more easier style for me.
